MYTHOLOGY + KATONAH YOGA
with Samara Speller

Friday, February 19th (2pm-4pm)
Price: $30

Storytelling is a way to remember who we are. It is the narrative thread that traces us back to who we were and leads us forward to who we have yet to become.

The great myths of the world are stories that have stood the test of time and that reflect our collective wisdom. They are our ancestors’ answers to the universal questions of humanity: Who are we? Why are we here? What are we to do with our brief and precious time on Earth?

Katonah Yoga incorporates mythology as a way for us to cross reference between our personal and collective narratives, to expand our world not just in space but through time. The oldest myths originated when there was very little contact between people of different cultures and yet many of the lessons they gleaned are the same.

In this workshop, we will discuss the myths that underpin the Katonah Yoga theory, how they are reflected in the practice, and what they have to teach us. Bring a writing utensil if you like to take notes, or simply a cup of tea if you like to listen.

Join Samara Speller LIVE on zoom. You will receive a zoom link via email one hour before the workshop begins to join. Recordings available upon request if you can’t make a session. Email info@thestudio.yoga after the session to request.
