SEMINAR SERIES - PRANAYAMA PRACTICES
with Abbie Galvin & Chase Connolly

Pranayama is a technique for rising above the physical body into the esoteric realm. Controlling the breath, channeling it to where we want it to go, in and out and around the body, allows us to channel consciousness in and out and around our lives.

The breath is incredibly aerobic and we can learn to use our imagination to manipulate it as food for our organs, insight for our minds and fuel for our emotional, physical and psychological well being.

Join us for a series of pranayama practices, where we will experience the power of breath work to open up territory in our bodies for our spirit to move through.

THE BODY AS A HOUSE (Wednesday July 7th) with Abbie Galvin
In this practice we will use pranayama to explore the magic square. Because each room has its own character and purpose, breath techniques and their rhythms change as we move through our metaphorical house. For example in room 6 we heat ourselves up to stoke the fire of effort to take a risk, in room 5 we calm it all down to self reflect, while in room 4 we engage an etheric breath to fuel our inspiration and foresight.

THE THREE FIRES (Wednesday July 14th) with Chase Connolly
In this practice we will explore the three fires of our personal abode. After locating the three fires in our bodies, the fire of the pelvis, the fire of the heart and the fire of the imagination; we will engage in pranayama practices to light and tend our fires in order to integrate the three floors of the body into one central column running through our being.

THE WRAPS FOR RAPTURE (Wednesday July 21st) with Abbie Galvin
In this practice we will explore the wraps for rapture, using our personal narrative thread to wrap ourselves into a string ball. One of the most therapeutic ways to use the wraps is in the poses themselves. We will move through a physical practice, to explore the use of breath in each pose, using the breath polarities to create a cocoon around ourselves.

THE BODY AS A GARDEN (Wednesday July 28th) with Chase Connolly
In this practice we will use pranayama to explore the body as a garden, focusing on self cultivation, as we step outside of the house to consider the patterns of Great Nature and how they intersect with the self - the gardener. Growing a healthy and abundant garden takes consistent effort for continued grace. Using metaphor and breath technique we will cultivate our internal landscapes, allowing our interiors to flourish and grow.
